Black Stone Cherry & Non Point at Sunshine Studios in Colorado Springs, Co 8/12/24

This was definitely a last minute decision on going to this show. In fact, the only reason I went was because as I mentioned in my Megadeth review Joe, the former DJ from the radio station offered me his extra Ticket. Jess and Lexi were both supposed to go but Jess wasn’t able to make it. Since Lexi was driving and she had to work late we didn’t get to the venue before the doors opened. However, I had a couple of good friends who were there early and got spots on the rail and held 2 of them for us. We got there and parked we met up with Joe out front, took a shot then headed in. I told him we had some friends who he is also friends with who had some spots for us, so we made our way up to the rail. At first, we only got 2 of us on the rail but before the night was over we were all on it.

Since we had gotten there late, we actually missed one of the opening bands. Which was a local band, I forgot who they were. The second band was also a local band from Denver called Luna Sol. I have heard of them before but never saw them live or heard any of their music. The band had some good energy and thought got the crowd pumped up. There weren’t a lot of people there, this definitely wasn’t a sold-out show. After the first band was done, we went and got some drinks, one of my friends bought me one for my birthday. Then we hung out waiting for Non Point.

This is at least the 3rd or 4th time I have seen Non Point live. Every time I’ve seen them they put on a high energetic show. This was no exception. However, the crowd at this show wasn’t giving them as much back. As I said the place wasn’t packed and I didn’t notice anyone moshing. Despite all that our group had a lot of fun I even managed to get a shot of all of us with the band in the background. I also managed to get a few of their guitar picks. I was hoping after their set they would be at their merch table so I could get a shirt and ask them to sign it. Unfortunately, they not only didn’t hang out at their merch table after their set, but they also didn’t come out at all. Not even after the main band played.

Black Stone Cherry is a band I have never seen live, but to be honest I only knew 3 of their songs. I had been listening to some of their music leading up to the show, so I was a little more familiar with their songs. The band put on a good set. Their guitarist who was in front of us had all kinds of energy and was engaging with the crowd and throwing out guitar picks. I managed to get one from him and I also got handed one after their set. The singer handed my daughter a pick and one of my friends who was with us got their set list. I would see them again live not sure if I would go just to see them again, even though they put on a good show.

At the end of the show we hung out in the parking lot for a bit with a guy we met inside. He offered us some beers and we just chilled for about 20 minutes before heading home.
